Responsible Citizens For Orange

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.

Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

Orange Budget Calls for 18.6%  Increase In Taxes!

Budget hearings have finished, crammed into three nights 1/3 of the way through the new fiscal year. The Administration Department and Public Works budget proposal presentations started at 11:45 pm on November 6th, the last scheduled hearing, and after Citizen Budget Advisory Committee members and many Council persons had left for the night.

Making the presentations for these Departments was Business Administrator Jewel Thompson-Chin. She was unavailable for questioning by CBAC members throughout the following week because of meetings and other scheduling conflicts.

Like last year, money continues to be spent before the City Council and Citizen Budget Advisory Committee has a chance to examine proposed expenditures and recommend budget cuts.
